Magsaysay wins 2010 Asian Corporate Communications Award At the 4th Asian Publishing Awards held recently in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, Magsaysay won the 2010 Asian Corporate Communications Award under the “Innovative corporate communications in a multi-media world” category.

Magsaysay Inc., is honored for its “Magsaysay WE CARE” Disaster Response Program, for making use of print, online, mobile and other media in its corporate communications and CSR activities as a response to the Typhoon Ondoy calamity that hit Metro Manila last year. Magsaysay bested other finalists National University of Singapore “National University of Singapore Business School Career Services – Connecting Recruiters and Students”, Shangri-La Hotel, Kuala Lumpur “Hotel Relaunch Program”, Tata Teleservices Limited’s “Hear Speak Do” Internal Communication Campaign for Tata Teleservices Limited (India). “This award is a recognition of a Magsaysay core value of building relationships with people through effective communication,” says Magsaysay Maritime Corporation (MMC) President and Homer Foundation Executive Director Marlon Rono in his acknowledgement speech during the awards night held at the Hotel Equatorial last July 9. “Our communication system was put to a test when typhoon “Ondoy” hit Manila last year and we had to immediately start the search and rescue operations to help our employees, our seafarers and their families, as well as other communities…” The 2010 Asian Corporate Communications Award is part of the Asian Publishing Awards, Asia’s premier awards program that recognizes best publishing practices in Asia. Other competition categories include the Asian Magazine Management Awards and Asian Book Publishing Awards. Eight (8) winners and 16 excellence awardees were recognized out of 70 entries from 32 companies representing 10 countries in Asia.
