In celebration of the Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Homer Foundation, Inc. in cooperation with Magsaysay Maritime Corporation (MMC), Magsaysay Multi-Purpose Cooperative (MAGCOOP), CarePoint Medical, Diagnostic and Wellness Clinic, Health Hub Pharmacy, and MMC Crew and Family Affairs Department, conducted the 2nd Magsaysay Health Forum focusing on the different cancers in women last October 15, 2016 at Robert Hall, Times Plaza Building in Manila.
The forum’s speaker, Dr. Victoria Sy-Fernando, discussed the awareness and prevention of the two most prevalent cancers in women—Breast Cancer and Cervical Cancer. In between lectures, participants were encouraged to undergo breast examination. Besides the featured lectures, participants enjoyed a Zumba session with instructor Mary Grace Cano and were also able to go around the different booths wherein healthcare and distribution companies offered free blood sugar and hepatitis C testing, and healthy food items. 100 Magsaysay employees, crew, and allottees were joined by Arnold B. Javier, President of MMC; Rommel V. Villasfer, Operations Manager of MAGCOOP; and Dr. Jason Roland N. Valdez, Medical Director of CarePoint Clinic.
