Homer Foundation together with Magsaysay HSES takes Part at the 32nd International Coastal Clean-up
To contribute to the preservation of the environment, the Magsaysay Group of Companies participated in the International Coastal Clean-up, the world's largest volunteer effort for ocean's health, last September 16, 2017 at the Bay-walk along Roxas Boulevard, Manila.
ICC is held every third Saturday of September in more than 100 countries all over the world. This year’s theme “Together for Our Ocean,” aims to remind everyone to be committed in preserving our oceans, rivers and waterways for the next generations.
A total of 211 Magsaysay employees, cadets and family members joined thousands of other volunteers from different organizations to help clean up and document ocean debris from the shorelines of Manila Bay. The volunteers were able to fill 238 bags of trash weighing about 7-10 kilograms each. Based on recorded data, among the most collected ocean trash were takeaway containers, food wrappers, pieces of foams, shoes, and slippers.
Since 2015, Magsaysay has been actively participating in this annual global event to raise environmental awareness and demonstrate social responsibility among Magsaysay People – employees, seafarers and families.
