Kumiai Senpaku Co. Ltd. Spearheads Tree Planting
In response to the evolving challenges of the global environment, Kumiai Senpaku Co. Ltd, in cooperation with Magsaysay and Asahi Marine Co. Ltd., initiated a tree planting project in the Philippines as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility. In commemoration of the 150th Anniversary of Dr. Jose Rizal, our National Hero, the organizers used the numerical significance of the occasion as basis in determining the number of trees to be planted for the project. The Launching of the Tree Planting Project was held at the historical Rizal Park last 16th of July, at around 7 AM. A total of 60 attendees composed of the Staff of Asahi Marine Co. Ltd., Magsaysay Executives and Managers, and members of the Magsaysay Children’s Chorale, graced the said occasion.
The event was also a celebration of the launching of Kumiai Senpaku Co. Ltd’s new vessel, MV Cape Jacaranda.
To inaugurate the program, the Magsaysay Children’s Chorale rendered their version of the Philippine National Anthem. Afterwards, Ms. Juliet Villegas, Executive Director of the National Parks Development Committee, officially welcomed the Japanese and Magsaysay contingent to the event. Soon after, Ms. Doris Magsaysay Ho, President and CEO of A. Magsaysay Inc., gave words of wisdom and inspiration to our audience, while Ms. Chikako Yoneda, Owner of Kumiai Senpaku Co. Ltd, reiterated their strong commitment to preserving and protecting the environment by conducting more tree planting activities at the Magsaysay Training Center and in Tanza, Cavite.
