Homer Foundation and MIHCA Sign Partnership with Sailors' Society
Homer Foundation, Inc. (HFI), Magsaysay’s corporate and social responsibility arm, and Magsaysay Center for Hospitality and Culinary Arts (MIHCA) recently signed a Tripartite Agreement with Sailors’ Society Philippines, Inc. (SSP) last February 7, 2017 at Times Plaza Building, Manila, Philippines.
Under the agreement, SSP will provide financial assistance to less-privileged yet deserving individuals who seek to complete Professional Culinary Arts course at MIHCA. Upon completion of the course, MIHCA, through its job placement system, will endorse these scholars to deluxe hotels and luxury cruise lines.
The agreement was signed by Marlon R. Roño, President of HFI; Chef Martin Grau, Culinary Program Manager of MIHCA; and Gavin Lim, President of SSP.
MIHCA is at the forefront of training and producing job-ready professionals in the fields of hospitality, tourism, and culinary arts. MIHCA has three campuses in the Philippines—Manila, Makati, and Cebu—and a campus in Jakarta, Indonesia. Each campus houses state-of-the-art kitchen laboratories, bars and fine dining restaurants, mock-up hotel rooms, and cruise cabins.
