MPs Unite for Safe Blood for All
MAGSAYSAY continued to fortify its passion and commitment in ensuring that communities have access to sufficient supply of safe and quality blood. On October 4, another blood donation drive was held simultaneously at Magsaysay Building at 520 Kalaw Street and Times Plaza Building in Manila.
Inspired by the core value of “We Care,” the recent blood donation drive successfully attracted 66 MPs as generous donors. These MPs are more than aware than they are not just donating blood, but also fuels the hope to live another meaningful life.
“You (MPs) may think that it could be just a few minutes of your time, but it’s actually more than that. What you have contributed in this activity can make a lot of difference -- life changing and even more both for you the donor and the recipient,” said Homer Foundation, Inc. (HFI) Executive Director.
The recently held blood donation drive was made possible through the initiatives of the Health, Safety, Environment and Security (HSES) team and the Homer Foundation, Inc. (HFI), the corporate social responsibility arm of Magsaysay. Over the years, around 5,000 volunteers have participated since the program was initiated in 2005.
Moreover, just last August, MAGSAYSAY was presented with the ‘Blood Services Platinum Award’ by the PRC during its 2019 Blood Donors Recognition Program. The Blood Services Platinum Award is an honor given by the PRC to organizations who are continuously supporting voluntary blood donation for at least ten years.
Kudos to our MPs for participating and making such a big difference in saving lives!
