Homer Foundation Partners with Sailors’ Society
to Promote Seafarer Health and Well-Being
Homer Foundation, Inc. (HFI), Magsaysay’s corporate and social responsibility arm, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Sailors’ Society Philippines, Inc. (SSP) last February 7, 2017 at Times Plaza Building, Manila, Philippines. The MOU calls for a joint commitment to provide holistic trainings and workshops focusing on the health and well-being of seafarers.
The agreement was signed by Marlon R. Roño, President of HFI, and Gavin Lim, President of SSP. Also present during the MOU signing were Alfonso Pablo, Jr., Executive Director of HFI; Froilan Bartolome, Program Officer of HFI; Alvin Gonzales, Sales and Marketing Head of the Magsaysay Center for Hospitality and Culinary Arts (MIHCA); Chef Martin Grau, Culinary Program Manager of MIHCA; Ferdie Carlos, Housekeeping Program Manager of MIHCA; Nic Tuban, Sailors' Society’s Manila Port Chaplain; and Jasper Del Rosario, Sailors' Society’s Subic Port Chaplain.
HFI is a non-stock, non-profit corporate foundation established in 1999 to address the social and economic development needs of Filipino seafarers, their families, as well as the needs of the less privileged communities in areas where Magsaysay companies operate.
