As part of its CSR initiatives, Magsaysay Maritime Corporation (MMC) participated in an outreach activity spearheaded by Magsaysay Multi-Purpose Cooperative (MAGCOOP) and PeopleServe Service Cooperative. Held at Barangay Tanza, Navotas last June 11, 2016, the activity was done in cooperation with Habitat for Humanity - Philippines, Homer Foundation, Inc. (HFI), MMC’s Crew and Family Affairs Department, Magsaysay People's Club - Manila, CarePoint Medical, Diagnostic, and Wellness Clinic, Health Hub Pharmacy, Fairmont Wives Club, and MC Shipping Wives Club.
The event was supported by Navotas City Mayor, John Rey Tiangco, and included activities such as Medical Mission, Zumba Workout, Book Reading and Volleyball Game. CarePoint Clinic and Health Hub offered free physical check-ups and medicine assistance to 400 residents. More than 200 kids joined the book reading activity and received school supplies from MAGCOOP and PeopleServe.
Under its CSR philosophy, We Care, Magsaysay has been engaging in various efforts to support communities around the country through HFI. Back in 2012, Magsaysay launched Project Doris—a house building project in partnership with Habitat for Humanity where over 700 Magsaysay People volunteered in the construction of homes at the Habitat Relocation Site in Barangay Tanza, where the recent community outreach program was held.
