SAGA Educational Assistance Program

PROGRAM OBJECTIVE: 
To provide incentive and extend recognition to the Filipino Crew who are on board Saga vessels that have rendered exemplary and loyal service to the Company by assisting in the college education of their children and/or their immediate brother or sister.
 
COVERAGE: 
Children and/or immediate brother or sister of a Filipino Crew of Saga who met the standards and requirements stated in this scholarship program.
 
IMPLEMENTING GUIDELINES:
  1. Children and/or brother/sister of Magsaysay Maritime Corporation Crew deployed to any Saga vessel who had continuously worked with any vessel for least three (3) years shall be eligible to apply.
  2. Any number of children/sibling may apply but only one from each family will be awarded the stipend at a time.
  3. Scholarship program is subdivided into two major categories, namely the SEAP Star Scholar and the SEAP Scholar. The following serves as grant extension:  ​
  
SEAP Scholar (for crew who completed three (3) continuous contracts)
  • College (Tertiary), High School and Elementary (Grade 5 and 6 only) of which Tuition and Book Stipends are extended per Semester for College and yearly for Elementary.

​Qualifications of  Candidates:
  1. EAP applicants should be children/sibling of the Saga shipboard personnel
  2. The crew should have completed minimum of three (3) continuous contracts (for Saga Scholar) and four (4) continuous contracts (for Saga Star Scholar) with the company with an above average performance rating. 
  3. ​With General Average of  85% and Above in academic subjects and a conduct grade of at least 80 or B,

 ​APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS (SCANNED COPY)
  • Certified copy of grade report 
  • Certification of Good Moral Character (for those fresh from graduation)
  • Diploma
  • Birth Certificate
  • Medical Certificate signifying that the applicant is physically fit for academic undertaking
  • Crew Personal Data Record and Service Performance (optional); and
  • 2 pcs. passport size photos
